2012 Bioterrorism Colloquium cancelled

After careful consideration, the Mensa Foundation's Board of Trustees regretfully voted on Jan. 31 to cancel the upcoming Colloquium, "Bioterrorism Strikes Home." This event was scheduled to take place May 4-6 in Olathe, Kan. The reason for the cancellation was the low number of attendees who had registered through the end of January, which led the Board to conclude that continuing with the event would be fiscally irresponsible.

The Mensa Foundation and the Colloquium planners are deeply indebted to the world-class speakers who had graciously agreed to share their expertise in support of the Foundation's educational programs.

And you, gentle site visitor, may take two things away from this cautionary tale:

1. The Mensa Foundation is ever vigilant with the funds it oversees. If you have made a donation in support of the Foundation, your money is in good hands and will go to good use. If you haven't donated to the Foundation, consider doing so today.

2. If, in future, you wish to attend a Colloquium event, don't dawdle over your registration! Or a program that is entirely capable of rocking your world might just melt away into nothingness before your very eyes.

Finally, would-be Colloquium attendees, take heart; you can register for Colloquium 2012: Social and Video gaming via this Web site.
